If you subscribe you can keep Strava as your connection choice…
I like this tool but I’m not anywhere near serious enough about cycling to pay for it.
I would go with manual upload as an option then - download your activities from Strava/ Garmin and manually upload
I’ve disconnected Strava from Intervals. Didn’t like them before even less so now. Also cancelled my paid subscription to Strava. Dummy well and truly spat out.
I appreciate what you’re saying. For some folk, even $4 per month is more “value” than they think they get from the tool. However, you obviously think that there’s some value, so why not pay for three months subscription and then cancel it if you must. At least you’ll have paid back something to reflect your current use.
Edit: FWIW I’ve just subscribed for the first time AND switched off syncing from Strava.
what are you using to upload the activities to Garmin?
Does it have option to also save to Dropbox?
That’s how it’s done!! My sub expires in summer but have cancelled also. LOL.
Hear hear
I mostly find value on Strava because of the HeatMap and the course planer, and then copying onto my Edge530. Other than that … well
Depending on where you stay, Garmin has the same functionality with the heat map. I find both have their pros and cons, but at zero cost Garmin would sneak the win.
Agree, but in my case, Strava is more reliable.
FWIW I’ve just raised a Feature Request on the Zwift forum for an automated update to intervals. If you’d like to see this too, please pop over there and add your vote.
Good idea! Maybe link the feature suggest here so others can find it more easily?
I guess I can do it myself as well: Auto upload to intervals.icu - Feature Requests - Zwift Forums
upvoted - zwift support Addidas and Vitality?? - surely intervals will be a great addition.
I would turn off Strava and update from Garmin but for some reason when I do this I don’t see my trainer rides??
Trainer rides recorded from where? Garmin only sends outs data when it’s recorded on their own devices.
It is as App4g says. You might be able to use Dropbox to get your trainer rides into Intervals.icu automatically. There are some links on this thread.
Vitality is a UK health insurance/perks provider - you can get perks like a free Apple watch if you do a certain amount of exercise and so on. Makes sense that they’d want to link to Zwift/Strava.
They operate in South Africa as well. My wife is on her 3rd almost free Apple watch. She does the required exercise anyway.
Yup my wife’s got a free Apple watch as well - she also gets 50% at Runner’s Need and good Garmin discounts which we’ve made use of in the past…
