Activity skyline chart on the calendar

It will do what you tell it to do as default. But you can easily change that by using the Actions - Analyse menu and change the detection parameters for that activity only.

Uncheck all and there will be auto-detected intervals.

thank you!

That would be fantastic. However, your screenshot covered up some of the settings. I havenā€™t figured out how to get the color coding. Hereā€™s my settings.

If only it was hidden in the screenshot. Unfortunately I have not found yet how to do that.

I do think I have seen some conditional colour coding based on the streams value a few months ago. But I dont remember where this was and if this was in a custom activity chart or in a fitness tab chart. Maybe someone else knows?

Edit: the coloured chart you see below the custom chart in my screenshot is just the workout I was following in this activity. Just to avoid confusion if any.

Oops. Yes, thatā€™s what I was looking at. So it looks like the interval by interval color coding by power zone is not something I can do with this. Even without that, I still appreciate you coming up with something pretty close. Thanks

Missing 1 interval on the SkyLine Chart. Am Wondering if skyline chart does the ā€œuse lapsā€ or it auto-detects intervals?

Activity Detail. (shows 6 intervals)

Skyline Chart (shows 5 intervals)

I have Use Laps and Keep All Laps and I even tried re-analyse.

It uses whatever the intervals are on the activity so use-case, auto detection, manual edits should all show up. If the intervals end up with the same intensity then they are merged. Looks like that is what happened with 5 and 6.

@david Iā€™m getting skyline charts based on Pace when I have Ignore pace data set for that activity.

Iā€™m guessing the chart generation respects the order set in Settings ā†’ Intervals (Power, Pace, HR) but itā€™s not checking for ā€œignoresā€.

PS: Would you prefer this type of thing be their own thread in Bug Reports or are you okay with people just replying to the announcements?

Replying to the announcement is fine, tx.

Unfortunately this isnā€™t something I can change easily. The skyline chart is generated from the interval data and that doesnā€™t use the ignore flags. It is quite possible that most of the activity is ok (so the intervals are good) but the overall power/pace/HR curves shouldnā€™t be used for other stuff which is what the ignore flags are for.

Just noticing the new colored interval charts on my home screen.

Those are incredibly helpful for at a glance workout evaluations.

Extremely good work!

I donā€™t have this ā€œworkoutā€ setting next to chart.

And the ā€œchartā€ setting toggles the Fitness graph dialog on top of the activity calendar, but has not effect to the activity charts. I can only get rid of them by going to ā€œminimal viewā€, otherwise they are always there.

Then, while this is really cool for structures training rides, it is really annoying for the everyday mobility sessions, gym power sessions, etc. (in fact even cycling to work, but thatā€™s probably a harder to make distinction, I confess;-).

Thus, I would really like to be able to turn it on as a per sports setting, have it enabled for cycling and running in my case but not for anything elseā€¦

You can control it per sport. Do Options ā†’ Colours:

Oh, well ā€“ yes, of course!
I missed the redirect form the settings to ā€œ colorsā€:-o Althiugh itā€™s clearly written above:-o
Thank you, once more, @david! Wonderful stuff

Iā€™m really confused - all of a sudden Iā€™m seeing differences in the prescribed workout, what is shown on the calendar after the workout and whatā€™s in the file (see below). But basically, whatā€™s shown on the calendar after seems to not reflect the workout that I did the work against. Within the file is fine. My previous workouts (like last week) werenā€™t doing this, the calendar would show the workout as completed. Iā€™m not sure if I changed something unknowinglyā€¦ any ideas?

The workout (before):

Displayed (after):

Whatā€™s shows in the file (after):

skyline charts works best based on Laps. It does look like youā€™ve not enabled LAPS but is using auto detecting. (hence I see the 1h6m @174w)
Thereā€™s also another reason which I canā€™t remember on how intervals will ā€œmergeā€ laps together IIRC.

I think someone did ask before.

How did you record the workout? Garmin, 3rd party app, eg. Zwift?
I think @app4g is correct when referencing the laps/steps are not embedded in the workout.

Iā€™m not a fan of the skyline chart on the activities page (calendar layout), as I like to see the actual planned workout and then go into the workout to see the details. However, I do like the skyline in list view.

Iā€™m assuming you know howto switch this on/off, based on the instructions from David above.

The skyline chart for a completed activity shows the intervals for the activity. These can be auto-detected based on power, manually edited or taken from the laps in the fit file. For Garmin devices controlling an indoor trainer the laps in the fit file match the workout steps so then using laps makes sense for the intervals.

To clarify: I performed the workout off both Zwift and my Garmin (with the workout loaded up). The file thatā€™s associated with the originally programmed workout is the Garmin file (I deleted the Zwift file). What I believe to be the case is that previously if I completed a workout on my Garmin, it would show the skyline chart directly corresponding to the workoutā€¦ from the second image above, itā€™s not doing that. In looking IN the activity itā€™s clear the workout is there w power and Iā€™m compliant with the target (was in ERG)ā€¦ so Iā€™m confused why the skyline is no longer representative of the workoutā€¦ not suggesting this is a bug, but Iā€™m guessing maybe I changed a setting?

Use-Laps:

Analyse: Use Laps Instead of detecting intervals.

Is there a priority for these conditions or it respects the ā€œuse lapsā€?
