Yes Thanks!
Hi there!
Is there an easy way, when creating an workout with intervals for Zwift, to prevent this from happening:
I mean the “1 of 5” thing.
The problem with that is that the average shown over that total block also includes the rest periods. And I’m mostly interested of the average over the Work periods.
My current workaround is instead of writing:
5x
-5m 85%
-5m 55%
I write:
-5m 85%
-5m 55%
-5m 85%
-5m 55%
-5m 85%
-5m 55%
-5m 85%
-5m 55%
-5m 85%
-5m 55%
Which kinda sucks if want to edit one or more elements for subsequent workouts (for instance I want to progress the wattage, I have to adjust all those instances of 85%).
Is there an easier way to prevent this formatting of workout happening in ZWO-exports?
FWIW, I prefer the nested layout; it looks much cleaner on the UI. For the lap merics, I prefer using my head unit (Garmin).
Hi… is there anyone that uses Stryd power for workout building…?
If you have a RUn FTP Set up, it would work the same.
Hi @Gerald… I just did a 1h25’ Vo2MAX indoor workout, but time in zones it’s only showed in HR section:
…not in power section:
Which setting has to be changed…?
Is this a cycling workout?
What does it show on your settings page?
Where is the second image from? Is it another workout where power shows?
It’s difficult to see your data without access to your profile.
It could be that your device is not on indoor mode, so it’s looking for GPS. It would then auto-pause.
Some steps to check:
- Is your Garmin set to indoor mode (disabled GPS)?
- Do you have auto-pause set (when stopped)?
If you choose Actions (bottom of screen) settings, ignore velocity, it might correct the workout. Just reanalyse.
@Gerald YOU ARE A MASTER…! Actually I didn’t use the indoor cycling option to have altitude correction…
Is there any other way insert the altitude you are actually training…?
Furthermore: is there any option to adjust power into workout builder for future workout: I better explain…
Tomorrow I want to ride a Z3 interval at 220W, but I will be at 1600m: is there any place where I can enter the altitude so my workout will be built with the equivalent power to maintain at 1600m…?
Yep, I do.
How…?
Thanks @Gerald:I found this feature, but I haven’t found any to preset the altitude I will train…
I haven’t found not even where to set the altitude I trained: that’s why yesterday I used “cycling” fon an indoor training: I thought it would had measured altitude above sea level, and my Garmin actually did… but then I had the problem you solved…
I don’t know enough about altitude adjusted power, as I have 99% of my data (and my athletes) at similar altitudes. I have the few rides at lower altitudes, otherwise it’s all 1400-1700m for most of the data. The adjustment seems to be about 8-15W across the range of 150-500W. Not enough to see on a chart either.
It was 3.5-4% difference in power/altitude adjusted power.
Living at 1500m and riding from 600m (start) and 2m (finish) asl.
Thanks @Gerald for your reply…
Actually, for my experience, since I mostly train at about sea level (230m elevation) and I travel quite a lot, I personally found that for me the decrease in power output is approximately 2% every 1000 ft of altitude: it means at 5000 ft I have to decrease every zone of about 10%… I shared this experiment with you in case you find it useful…
Since it’s quite empirical, I was looking for something more scientific: but never mind, I will keep this rule…
Thanks again for you kindness…!
Let me clarify,
I use intervals to write workouts which get pushed to my Garmin account and executed using the stryd zones data field.
This what I did, but then when I start the workout my Garmin takes power data from HRM Pro…
How did you force the garmin to target Stryd power source @zigford…?
- On your watch (or from the phone under your watch settings), press the button to start an activity.
- Go to the bottom of the list and hit “add”.
- Then choose “Copy Activity”.
- Choose the run app
- Name it stryd (or Janice for all I care)
- Scroll down to running power and turn it off
- Turn off auto lap
- Make sure the stryd zones data field is added
- Go rip some 400s
