Workout builder

Hi David,

As remark the Press Lap command makes downloaded files unusable at least for Rouvy.
Maybe you could strip that command “when downloading” for use with other controllers once the method of sending to Garmin to be different?
As you can see in the picture bellow it cuts the entirely warm up off.

I couldn’t find a way to attach a file so it follows bellow.
Don’t worry I’ve made changes only on the messages duration to match the ones of the interval.

Regards,

Hi David. I have a problem when I export a ride from my calendar and import it into a friends one. I does not recognize the repeats. I see this tread mentions a similar problem when TP rides are imported.

Hmm. I haven’t been able to reproduce this. All the HR workouts I create don’t mention cadence in the data set to GC. Please msg me a link to one of your friends activities so I can have a look at some of the workouts in question. Tx.

Can you please msg me the Intervals.icu text for the workout. I will try figure out whats happening. The “press lap” feature shouldn’t have any impact on mrc download.

How did you do the export and import?

I just tried it myself to exclude the possibility of beeing the watch that was the problem. I just created a run activity with the following text and added it to today in calender. It synced up to Garmin Connect and I synced the phone (iPhone) with my Fenix 6 watch. When I started the activity I got the same result, altough what she thought was cadence actually seem to be pace as you can see in the first picture it says Step Pace instead of heart rate.

I created the same workout within the Garmin Connect workout builder and uploaded that workout and as you can see in picture 2 it says bpm.

The weird thing is that the startup screens is identical between the two workouts but as soon as I start the workout it behaves different…
Workout text:

  • 10m 50-70% HR

4x

  • 6m 85-90% HR

  • 2m 50-70% HR

  • 8m 50-70% HR

Absolutely.

Warmup

  • Press lap 10m ramp 55-60% HR

Main set 4x

  • @90 rpm 8m 100%
  • @80 rpm 4m 50%

Cooldown

  • 20m 50%

The “HR” on the end of that line that is causing the problem. If you remove that it should work.

Hmm. This is going to take a bit of figuring out. I am away for the weekend but will see what happens with my wife’s Garmin watch and some running HR workouts when I get back on Sunday. I am definitely sending “targetType”: “HEART_RATE_LAP” though for these workouts. The editor doesn’t support pace yet.

Could you please msg me a link to one of your Intervals.icu activities so I can find you on the platform and look at the actual workout you are testing with. Tx.

Hi David
Using the Download Button and the the import one

Hi Andrew actually we at TrainerDay don’t support this LAP feature either. I believe only GoldenCheetah has this. This is not part of any ERG/MRC standard. I did talk to Mark at GC about this in the past. Maybe someone did import this LAP into TrainerDay so you might have gotten it from us indirectly but I don’t think it will work.

Hi,

Is it only for HR?
I’ve seen command of yours with power

  • Press lap when ready 20m 50%
  • Ouch 8m 110%

I though it would be because of the “ramp”

Tks

HI Davi,

More info regarding Rouvy.
ramp and range also are not interpreted by Rouvy. It takes the biggest value as flat.

Regards,

Yes the lap option should work with power and HR but the mrc file format is only for power (as far as I know). So thats why that first step is being left out.

What format did you use? You can just click “edit” and cut and paste the text instead.

Hi David,

Humm. I was using .mrc for not having to worry about creating a new file every time there was a change in the FTP once erg uses absolutes figures.
Now I ( we the forum) am advised of this detail.
The solution will be to duplicate some workouts depending the use adjusting them to ( Garmin workout (power and HR) and smart trainers control softwares (Rouvy, I don’t know about others).

Thank you very much for your help

any of the three formats does the same. Aware of the copy and paste method, just making you aware that the export function has this error.

I have not yet tried it, but ergvideo.com claims to import .erg and .mrc files and play them back with ANT+ control for free. You need to pay to access their content, but the use of their player with your files in no charge.

Hi, @david maybe it has been discussed before but I do not seem to find it.
Is there any way to export a workout from intervals.icu to trainerroad?
Thanks!

I think you have to export from intervals, import in TrainingPeaks and after that pair the TrainerRoad with TP
