Wondering how to implement Ride planned workout without power meter

Ideally I’d like to set a pace. For example I have a time trial coming up and my goal average MPH is 21. I think the problem is there is no link between my heart rate and pace in intervals so it can’t compute things like load.

I tried making the LTHR range work but then it gives my distance in running distance rather than riding distance. For example, if I set my %LTHR to like 100 - 110% it says I go a mile in about 9.5 minutes but my biking mile would be must faster than that indicating it’s using my running %LTHR linked to my speed.

Wondering how others are implementing planned ride workouts without a power meter. I have a trainer (turbo) which works great for interval training and planned workouts. However when I go outside I don’t have a power meter.

So you are trying to create distance based steps for cycling? There isn’t any pace data for cycling in /settings so it is using a default so as to not fall over completely. Your best bet is probably to train by heart rate when you don’t have power.
