Why does Rouvy and zwift interpretation of power zones in workout

Hi All.

Recently been using the workouts creator and syncing these with Zwift and Rouvy.

However, has anyone noticed the difference between how Rouvy seems to interpret the workout zone compared to Zwift.

this workout

In Zwift, i get three straight line z4 intervals at the set wattage.

Whereas in Rouvy i get a ramping up from ftp 85% to 95% during the 10min duration

I don’t have an issue specifically with how Rouvy ramps between the ranges, but i didn’t ask it to do this wereas Zwift seems to just interpret it correctly and i can manually adjust this to vary my power across the interval.

Do we know if this is a Rouvy thing it’s doing? Otherwise when i use Rouvy, my sessions will literally have to be ‘x watts’ which is a pita becuase i’d like one set of workouts at w/range or % FTP X - ftp % y..

Thanks in advance

Dan.

Maybe we need an “intended platform” function in the workout builder, which would include guidelines about what works, what doesn’t, and how each element should be presented in the workout structure.
Still, I’m aware this would be quite complex to implement and would likely require constant updates.

Earlier this year, I tried to push for the creation of a guide so we could have this information at a glance, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to gain traction on the project.
Anyway, here’s the link to the post:

For my athlete(s) using Rouvy, I amend their workouts to show no range, while for Zwift, TP Virtual, Garmin and MyWhoosh it’s all the same.

My suggestion would be to write your workouts to suit your 3rd party application of choice.
