I’m syncing my weight data with Garmin, but for the days where I don’t insert weight in Garmin the app does not use the previous data value, but use the default one insert into the Settings. Taking and keeping the previous value would not be the most correct approach?
The Garmin weight sync should change the value in /settings when a new weight is synced so then it shouldn’t matter? Or I am missing something?
I’m talking about the past values. When a data miss for a day in Garmin serie it is replaced wi.th the current value in the present.
Aha. You mean when an old activity loads?
Yes, look at the chart, for every point in the past when in the Garmin serie miss a value, it is replaced with the present weight one.
Its quite hard for me to fix that unfortunately. When the activities load in there may be no historical weight data at all so I can’t rely on that. There don’t seem to be too many so you could just fix them up on the calendar page (click the weight on the day to open the wellness dialog).
It is hard to fix manually too, they are hundreds of activities. Is it not possible to implement a bulk procedure that fix weight applying garmin data and keeping previous value on specific date range?
Ok I will have a look tonight.
Hi, I’m new and I love what I see.
I just noticed after importing all Garmin weight data that I have the same issue. As I weight myself once a week, 99% of the activities are showing now my current weight (which I entered manually while registering) which makes the graph not really usable unfortunately.
Thanks
You can use the activity list page to edit the weight of each activity on the grid. I will try get this sorted soon.
weight sync should change the value in /settings when a new weight is synced
I would expect this to be the case, but it doesn’t seem to work, at least for me. For the days I don’t add weight to Garmin Connect, I get the “default” value of 75kg which is defined in settings.
P.S. I might have some “rogue” sync app resetting the value, since I’ve tried quite a few of those. There isn’t a user-facing audit log I could check, is there?
Intervals always uses the weight with the most recent Date-Time stamp.
If you get unexpected results, you should check all your data flow connections.
The Garmin sync is known to be inconsistent in sync time. It can happen at any time of day. Probably you have another source for weight that is occurring sometimes before, sometimes after the Garmin sync.
Thanks for swift reply!
I’ll disable all the other sources except for Garmin. Hopefully it will help, yet I’m not that confident, since I’ve had this problem for a while now, (I think) way before I’ve tried 3rd party synchronisation services.
I was just going to explain that intervals.icu is the only place where I have my weight set to 75kg, and I’ve decided to check strava.com, which drumroll has my weight set as 75kg…
I have deleted that value, will check if that helps.
Thank you for floating in my bathtub.
Edit: there’s a checkbox for that.
