Virtual rides not syncing from Garmin

I’ve noticed that in the past 2 weeks rides completed on Zwift no longer appear in my Intervals activity feed. They appear in Garmin Connect and all other activity types sync without a problem (road rides, runs etc).

I’ve tried unlinking from Garmin via the intervals site and the connect app and resyncing but this has no effect. If I manually download the activity from Garmin and upload it to Intervals it appears without issue.

Very strange, any ideas on the cause or other things I could try?

Garmin stopped sending activities from 3rd parties (e.g. Zwift) to apps like Intervals.icu approx 2 weeks ago. I have no idea why and I haven’t been able to find any official announcement about the change.

So unfortunately you need to manually upload Zwift stuff or maybe use the new Dropbox support. Feel free to complain to Garmin and/or Zwift about this :frowning:

Hi All,

Yes, this is unfortunate change. It is part of business requirement. If a 3rd party partner sends FIT files to us and uses API to collect Garmin Connect FIT files, it would cause all 3rd parties’ data being send back to them. It causes unnecessary duplicates.
If anything would change in our model, we will make an announcment.

Thank you for the information. I’ll ping Garmin a message to point out why it was useful - for what it’s worth.

I’ll take a look at the Dropbox option. Might be able to symlink Zwift’s activities folder with Dropbox and then upload to Intervals.
