I uploaded a ride today, but forgot to update my FTP (and associated power zones) beforehand, so the ride analysis has my old power zones. So I updated my FTP (and zones), selected the ride in Activities/List view and then used Edit/Update Zones, but the zones have not updated? I’ve tried reloading the ride from Strava, re-analysing etc, but nothing seems to work?
What am I doing wrong?
Related Q. Strava keeps a chronological record of when I changed my FTP (Settings/My Performance/FTP) which I find very useful. Does intervals record the change dates? And if so, where can I view the change history?
Ummm… to answer my own first Q! I had updated my FTP at Settings/Ride/Power Settings, and then used the edit/update zones in the activities list view. What I needed to do was manually change the FTP in the top right corner of the Activity view. That worked, without using edit/change zones.
Perhaps I don’t understand the interface properly, but this seems to be a little confusing with overlapping methods?
You can use a chart for this. Search for FTP History in custom charts on the fitness page. This specific one shows the eFTP, FTP and best 20-min test power.
That’s by design. If you change your FTP in the settings this is only valid for all new activities. And it shall not update the value for old activities, so that setting is copied to the activity.
The “update zone” does only update the zones as far as I know. So for example if you change your zone 2 from 75% FTP to 80% FTP. It doesn’t change the FTP value.
If you want to change your FTP for an activity, go to Edit in the menu.
So that should probably be changed in the guide @Gerald or what do you think?
Regarding this, there has been a few requests for other ways to edit / record FTP history (and possibly other values, such as weight, etc.). See the following link for a suggestion I’ve already shared on this forum:
