Trying to use Intervals as my ecosystem (flow)(triathlons)

Hi!

I hope this is not to overwelming. But I wanted to get feedback on the way I am working with my data and planning trainings and devices I use…

Main questions

  • What apps do you use to track sports (Swim, run) on an Apple Watch. Currently using native apple watch app but it messes up my swmimming when using the healthfit flow, so I have to manually exprt from stava to get it into Dropbox. Any advice here?
  • Any improvements on my way of getting data to Apple Health / Strava / Intervals / Dropbox
  • Getting my planned workout to a device is maybe goldplating to hard? Should I go pen paper? What do other people do? Using tp2intervals is an on prem installation so you need to be on a computer to get it synced… + you need to use “planned workout” supported apps
  • Do you guys think a Garming watch will help me impoving my flow? Making it less complex or maybe even more complex?

Maybe some questions are already answered in other topics, feel free to share these.

Any advice is welcome!

Can you explain what is On-Prem? and “planned workout” supported apps?

I don’t have an apple watch, tempted but still prefer my Garmin. Hence, no issues at all for my workflow.

Currently trying to figure out how to read data from Apple Health (via Healthkit) to export data into FIT file format. Currently facing the issue where Apple HealthKit doesn’t want to support x or y data (eg: Power data for cycling only made it into Apple Health like ios17!!) and I just found out that there is cyclingCadence, but there is no runningCadence data support. (have to interpret and interpolate) and it doens’t store per sec distance data, you have to interpolate it yourself as well (either using GPS distance or using speed data)

ps: what is used to generate that pic?

Hey @app4g

On prem means that its a software application installed on a computer
Planned workouts I mean my future workouts that I plan in Intervals, like a todo interval run training

I used Figma to make the image

How does this work for getting TP → Apple Watch?
I know if you have workouts in TP, it can be sync’ed onwards to myWhoosh and Zwift (for eg:) automatically.

Does this TP → Apple Watch happen automatically or there is a need to “send workout to”

You need to have the Trainingpeaks app on your IPhone

Right… I can offer you a suggestion for Intervals.icu → TP (Phone App, so no need to use a computer)

If you do try it out, let me know feedback so I can improve it.

Now working on getting Apple Health Data into FIT format so I can sync it onwards (Garmin / Intervals.icu / Dropbox etc)

I use a garmin and intervals for pretty much everything

HR strap, Stryd, smart trainer all connect to garmin

I build all my workouts in intervals, which then sends them to Garmin watch

After each workout, Garmin sends everything to intervals for record

If you’re concerned about tracking health, you can do that in intervals as well since there are so many Metrics available and customization to configure whatever you want. Again, the source data is coming from my Garmin watch and a scale that I manually upload weight into my Garmin watch

About as simple as it gets

Hey @Mark_Benyak Which Garmin are you using?

Fenix 6 pro but I did the same with my 935 however the newer Fenix series seems to have more metrics that it captures
