Training Load HR v Pace

I am a runner. Recently I have been base building. I will be using NSM. This means most of my runs have been intentionally run at sub 70% heart rate.

My settings are

My runs are variants of

  • Easy 25m 60-70% HR
  • Cooldown Press Lap 0-70% HR

The only difference being the duration.

If I set it to be calculate load by pace, the compliance is massively off.

If I change it to HR/Pace/Power then I’m much closer to compliant as the load is ~30% lower.

Any thoughts? Ignore it? I don’t really like being told I’m not compliant, it makes an accurate ramp hard to plan because I know I’m going to be way off and at least this morning’s activity wasn’t automatically recognised so I had to drag it on - I wonder if it’s cos I was too far off compliant?

You are specifying the workout by HR, and thus the planned workout has load calculated by HR. The activity has load calculated by Pace. That’s what is causing the compliance to be off.
You could try to get a better matching setup for your pace and HR zones.
