Stryd calibration results

I wondered if anyone else would share their calibration results from Stryd? I’m interested to know whether other people are experiencing similar discrepancies.

I had a go myself using a running track which I confirmed by using a calibrated trundle wheel. I did quite a lot of runs covering a range of distances from 400m to 3km and paired using Ant+. I put the data into a spreadsheet and took an average of the averages.

I came out with an average calibration factor of 98.1

I thought it might have been wrong because I kept coming up around 100m short on each Parkrun.

I did a calibration check back in 2017 and 2018 when I bought my Stryds. They are a percent or two from each other in power and distance.

I never applied a calibration factor because Stryd is quite repeatable. Also, a calibration factor only scaled distance and pace. Power and all other metrics are not scaled, so calibration is kind of a misnomer. Unless you adjust the calibration factor on the device itself, which is not recommended by Stryd at all.

Stryd is +-2% based on specs. And The calibration discussion has been posed frequently in the FB group. I recommend just to leave the device measurements alone.

I would bet that if you did a sensitivity analysis on your training and varied all inputs by 3-5%, you wouldn’t see much actionable difference.
