Strava auto download

Has anyone had issues with downloading strava ride data recently. It seems that my last two events this past week have not loaded into activities.

No issues here

The webhooks from Strava can fail sometimes. Unfortunately I can’t make it more robust without using up a lot of precious Strava API calls.

David, tx for the feedback. Interestingly the last few downloads are missing from my activities table with all the line listed metrics but in the fitness tab I see the data graphically with numerical assessment as if it loaded. Will i ever be able to see the tabulated data again? TX for the extraordinary web portal.

It looks like your Strava activities have been replaced by ones from Garmin Connect. Strava strips out fields like L/R balance and so on so this is generally what you want. You can see them if you to go Options on the calendar page and tick the “Show deleted activities” and “Show activity source” boxes.

Yes, I’ve missed a couple.

You can try using the “Download old data” button in the Strava box in /settings. That might fill them in.

Thanks @david. I was having the same problem today, for the first time, but going into settings and “downloading old data” just for today’s workout worked. Cheers.

Sorry to belabor the point, but my events are still not showing in the Activities tab, but as mentioned previously I can see the data graphically in the Fitness tab. I’m not sure of the linkage between the Activities tab and the Fitness tab but they don’t seem to synchronize. I did do the “download old data” in the Strava box but it didn’t produce any updates to the activities table. This issue has been going on since Jan 13 2023 and has not happened previously. Maybe there was a programming glitch recently.

Thanks David. That worked. I was getting tripped up by the fact ‘match workouts’ actually rename Strava workouts, so I couldn’t find them. That’s unexpected behaviour for me - The well-crafted public name I gave a workout in Strava was overwritten by the TrainerRoad ‘planned workout’ I had associated it with. So I disabled the ‘match workouts’ feature, as I value being able to find my workouts by recognisable name as more important than the workout matching feature.

Please give me a couple of recent dates with missing activities and what should be there and I will have a look. The calendar and fitness pages all work of the same set of activities. The fitness data is computed and stored when activities come in so it could get out of sync but the activities on each day listed at the bottom as you move over the graph should match.

David, I had activities on Jan 14, 15, 17,18 and 20. As I mentioned if you scroll across the Fitness graphic they show up at the bottom of the cursor with the Strava title name. In setting should I turn off Download Activities in Garmin Connect and only keep active Strave download activities? I never had to stop Garmin Connect downloads before with Strava downloads also active. TX
