For some reason my fatigue and fitness values have gone through the roof and I can’t see why. I did do a trail race a few days ago, but that shouldn’t have driven the values so far off.
Is this a bug as I can’t see from my activities why they would have changed so much?
It’s not a bug for sure.
You are mixing Load from Power and HR because some of your runs have power and others don’t. Those without power will use HR load, those with power will use Power load if your config remained default for the Load priority. If the thresholds and zones are not matching in between HR and Power, you will see this kind of behaviour.
Stick to one Load metric by setting HR as the first priority or find out what your FTP is and setup zones correctly.
Hi - Thanks for the reply. I use a Stryd for my runs so use power. But I couldnt use it on the race as it involved lots of waist and chest deep water so would have ruined it!
But all other runs will use Power. My running power zones are setup from the Stryd figures and my heart rate zones are setup from Garmin based on LTHR.
Is there anything I can do on the race without power to bring it more inline to avoid those spikes or is it behaving as expected?
Oops, I have to correct myself. I first didn’t notice that the ones with low load and without power are Walks. Thought it were all runs, so my answer was based on that.
Checking a bit deeper now, the Load calculation from Power and HR seem to match quit well for runs with or without power. The culprit is from something else.
Could it be that you have something planned for today with an extreme high load? The Fitness chart will include planned workouts and since the peak is showing for today, that would throw off the chart. Or you already did the planned activity and it didn’t pair with the planned workout, making the load count double.
If in doubt, show a screenshot of the calendar for this week.
Hi - Thats was it. There was a Critical Power test that i setup for a stryd calibration.
I did put in power zones targets for my intervals but it calculated the load as 1500!! So i’ve updated them to just have mins and that has brought everything back in line. Thanks for the help.
Happy for you to move this from bugs as it’s shown to be human error (bug!!)
