[SOLVED] Threshold HR analysis: interpretation inquiry

Hi,

Threshold HR + 6 at 162 bpm from 98% of 20 min at 165 bpm.

Should I interpret this information in a positive or negative manner ?

Thanks.

If the former setting (156) was equally the result of a longer effort test, this means that you got better at clearing lactate and you can sustain a higher HR for a 20 min period without blowing up.
So that is positive.
But I’m sceptical, because an increase of 6 bpm at LTHR is really big.

It’s a 10-kilometer running race.

Then I would be confident of the new value unless there was a known factor with influence on HR (Heat/Dehydration…). Just questioning the older value, which was probably a ‘guestimate’?

It was indeed an estimation.
