Could it be that the assignment of activities to “Gear” is not working correctly when using the “Calculate” function?
I added my touring skis, which I bought in 2024, with a start date of February 9, 2024, and set them as the default gear for “Backcountry Ski.” After saving, I reopened the gear settings and pressed “Calculate,” but no activities were assigned.
However, I have dozens of backcountry ski activities in my history. Am I missing something, or could this be a bug?
You need to apply them to the past activities first.
Calendar List view - Filter - Edit - Edit and assign gear.
Future actvities will take the gear automatically.
Weird—when I assigned my bikes/components yesterday, the activities were synced correctly. But for my touring skis, even after setting them as the default gear for “Backcountry Ski” and using the Calculate function, no activities were assigned.
Could this be because the bike was already created in Strava, while the skis were newly added? If so, would this be more of a missing feature rather than a bug?
Ideally, the Calculate function should assign activities that don’t have any gear assigned yet—if they fall within the gear’s active timeframe. This would ensure better consistency and prevent gaps in tracking. Would love to see this implemented!
