Intervals.icu News 2025-04-29

The really big news is that the Intervals.icu development team has doubled in size! Eva has joined as a front-end engineer and designer! We are busy with a huge library upgrade but when that is done, things will accelerate.

Other updates:

  • Added weight to full Garmin history import
  • The activity summary (top bar on all the activity detail pages) now has a configurable layout. You can move things around, add/remove fields (including custom fields), all per sport. You can also use layouts shared by others and share your own
  • Menstrual cycle phase can now be captured when prediction is disabled. Some bugs in this area have also been fixed. So if you tried this feature and it wasn’t working well for you, give it another look
  • The stack value for custom plots on the /fitness page can be edited using the dot dot dot menu. So you can control how bars stack
  • The /athletes page now limits how quickly it calls the server and groups athletes into pages. This should fix the 429 errors for people with many athletes
  • Fixed error with custom activity trace charts with pace background bars on activities without pace
  • Calendar page toolbar now fits on phones in portrait mode
  • Activity summary now has a different layout for portrait and landscape on mobile
  • Custom activity streams can now have an array if values for each second for better than 1 Hz sampling
  • Plot weather forecast temperatures on the /fitness page
  • Planned workouts can display multiple text events (messages) with configurable timing per step. The Zwift zwo file importer correctly imports zwo files with such text events
  • Intervals.icu is available on app.intervalsicu.co.uk for people behind restrictive corporate firewalls
  • Added training load, time and weight age group based histograms to the /power page
  • Added athlete height to the /settings page. Please fill this in
  • Added support for PedalBalance in tcx files (for Cadence app)
  • The Intervals.icu data model for JavaScript extensions is now available as a npm package. Get code completion in your favourite editor!
  • The fit file importer will now use workout step messages for lap intensity if not set on the lap
  • Planned workout uploads to other services now include external calendars with “events are workouts” set. This makes it possible to get planned workouts into Intervals.icu and to Garmin et al just by creating an ics file
  • Activities from fit files with sub sport set to COMMUTE are now considered commutes

Thanks for all the recent updates! Loving the ability to customize the activity summary.

Is it possible to set the new forecast plot (on the fitness page) to display Fahrenheit? It currently plots in Celsius.
