If we set zones in intervals.icu and sync Garmin, will zones from intervals.icu auto-sync with Garmin? OR Do We have to go to Garmin separately to set them as they appear on intervals.icu?
I want to make sure that if I am setting zones for my athlete in intervals.icu they should reflect the same on Garmin either via direct sync or manually. and in case of structured workouts with % intensity of various parameters, it will adjust them to the right intensity rather than the wrong ones.
Intervals can’t change any settings on Garmin Connect.
HR zones and FTP must be set manually to the same thing as in Intervals. Workouts will be sent with %FTP if power.
I think earlier I wasn’t able to communicate effectively what I meant. So I did shoot a quick video demonstrating what I meant here and if that is even a possibility. i know that might not be working like this at present but if that can be changed in the future.
In TrainingPeaks you are using Pace as the measurement metric.
In Intervals you are using Heart Rate (LTHR).
These won’t give the same result as they are different units of measure.
If I understand, your athletes are “lazy” and don’t update their zones in Garmin Connect.
I make a point of insisting that the athlete makes the change, otherwise I can’t load a workout on their calendar. When they don’t, this happens, and then they ask why the recovery time is zero.
I have replicated it in my TrainingPeaks calendar, to show you how this compares to Intervals.
My zones are identical in both apps. I used Z2 and Z4 under the pace settings.
I’m a recreational runner, using it as cross training.
When it comes to cycling, I know that Power and HR will work.
Hope this answers some of your query.
I completely agree and understand the point that if measurement units are different then things won’t work in the same way. However, in my video, I have used the things to just demonstration purposes which were never meant to be in actual that way.
I think in your second part, if I understood correctly I see you are conveying the point that how things look if you have the same zones on all devices which I definitely understand. However, that is off-topic as I know that will surely work.
My ask is if it is possible that we can incorporate the workout with exact same intensities surpassing the % of any metric configured on intervals.icu but rather simply taking BPM, min/km, or watts number and then posting to devices.
But seems that is to possible. So no issues there. Respect what the platform has to offer and it’s great already. cheers mate.
