How to monitor my overall performance and fitness?

Hi everyone,

I recently transitioned from a complex workflow using Garmin, Wahoo, and Polar devices to a workflow involving Taipiirik (with Strava and Dropbox sync) and Velohero, and now I’ve settled on intervals.icu.

My goal is to comprehensively document and integrate all my activities while monitoring my fitness. I’m a supporter of intervals.icu, but I’m still learning how to use its analysis tools effectively. My primary sport is cycling, and I typically record Heart Rate, Cadence, and GPS data. I own no powermeter. I have a few questions:

  1. Is there a way to analyze Heart Rate vs. Speed (slope-corrected; I often train in the hills and mountains)?
  2. Can I calculate Power from my measured parameters?
  3. Is it possible to visualize and analyze Tempo/Pace?

Additionally, I’ve recently started running and incorporating kettlebell exercises to strengthen my core. I apologize if my questions aren’t specific enough. I appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Best regards,
Robert

  1. No
  2. No
  3. For cycling you can visualize Speed. For running, you can visualize and analyse Pace or GAP. First set Threshold Pace in the Run category on the Settings page.

1 and 2 are ‘No’ because there’s nothing meaningful to do with speed for cycling.

For 1. and specially running, I added a graph to my Compare tab that charts GAP vs HR as dots. The biggest downside here is that you can’t clearly see which dot belongs to which workout.
I don’t think it makes sense to have a Gradient Adjusted speed for a bike, as a power meter is much better and you could track your power vs HR, which I believe is one of the default graphs.
