How to build a weight training workout

Ok, so for weight training, is there a recommended way to build a workout so that it syncs with my Garmin watch? I know for cycling workouts, I can use something like the following:

warmup

  • 5m ramp Z2

4x

  • 15s Z5
  • 45s Z2

2x

  • 1m Z4
  • 1m Z2

main set
6x

  • 30s Z5
  • 30s Z3
  • 30s Z5
  • 30s Z3
  • 30s Z5
  • 30s Z3
  • 30s Z5
  • 30s Z3
  • 30s Z5
  • 2m 30s Z2

cooldown

  • 5m ramp Z2-Z1

but is there a recommended way to do this for weight lifting? Example:

  • Exercise=Hack Squat Machine

  • 3x15 @ 100lbs

  • Exercise=Leg Curl

  • 5x8-10 @ 50lbs

Apologies if I missed this example somewhere else in the forum. Please feel free to link, if I missed this being answered somewhere else.

Any updates on this?

Would love to see this for use with Coros. Coros has ‘strength workouts’. I’ve tried the Intervals.icu workouts planned training but unfortunately this doesn’t synchronize yet to Coros.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but this is exactly my question.

Any updates? Or any ideas on how to do this? Perhaps a link to relevant thread or to an iOS/Android app?

TIA,

Dave

I’m also interested in this feature.

Is there any advance in this development route @david ?

Thanks!

I have created workouts like this for my TRX workouts in Intervals, and add them to my Intervals calendar.

Then after syncing Garmin Connect with Intervals data, on my watch I go to Activity Start > Strength and am prompted if I want to do “Today’s Workout”.

These workouts are time-based, and the watch cycles through each step the same as it would for a cycling workout. I have also created workouts in Garmin Connect which require, e.g. pressing Lap button to proceed to the next step in workout, but I don’t think Intervals supports that workout format.
