Hexis (fuelling plans) has integrated with Intervals.icu

Hexis gives you an intelligent, personalised fuelling plan that adapts to each day. I am excited to announce that they have integrated with Intervals.icu. Hexis uses your Intervals.icu training plan and completed activities, translating them into a personalised and periodised fuel plan designed to enhance performance and elevate recovery.

Use the discount coupon “INTERVALS” to get 15% off the subscription price. Intervals.icu earns a commission if you use that code which helps support this platform.

Have you considered integration with EatMyRide app?
It is also fueling plan application, but it is only on mobile version and much cheaper than Hexis.

Always loving it when i open the website of a new product and they don’t outline what the product is besides sign up.

An app, a device, a foodtracker?

Hi Everyone,

My name is David Dunne and I’m the CEO and a Co-Founder of Hexis. I’m delighted to join this community and I wanted to provide a brief bit of background on myself and Hexis so you all get to know us a bit better.

My background is in high performance sport where I’ve spent the last 10+ years working as a Performance Nutritionist for a range of elite and Olympic athletes and organisations (UCI World Tour Cycling, Premier League Football, International Rugby, Ryder Cup Golf, NBA and Professional Boxing). I’m very fortunate to have worked with some amazing individuals who have played an incredibly important part in the Hexis journey to date.

Academically, I did my undergraduate in Nutrition and Sports Science at St. Marys University in Twickenham (UK) before completing my postgraduate in Sports Nutrition through the International Olympic Committee in Luasanne (Switzerland). However, during my time working as a practitioner I go really frustrated by the inefficacies in delivering personalised and periodised nutrition to every athlete I worked with. This frustration, coupled with the new opportunities that technology provide us, drove me to doing a PhD in Behaviour Change, Design Thinking and Technology Innovation in Sports Nutrition at Liverpool John Moores University (UK) which has ultimately led to the development of Hexis.

I’ve now transitioned from being a practitioner to a founder in the startup world with Hexis, where we understand that every athlete is unique. Right now, Hexis delivers intelligent personalised fuel planning tailored to the demands of your workouts, lifestyle and goals. We have big aspirations, and while we’re constantly improving, we appreciate that there may be some bumps along the way. Your feedback is will be invaluable to us as we refine and grow, and we’re committed to creating an experience that meets your needs and evolves with you.

Stay Fuelled,
David

Hi Berry,

Hexis is an intelligent personalised fuel planner for enhanced performance. We deliver daily personalised fuel plans (for every meal of the day including how to fuel during your workout), tailored specifically to the demands of your workouts, lifestyle and goals. The fuel plans are evidenced based with a focus on our co-founders research in carbohydrate periodisation (Fuel for the Work Required: A Theoretical Framework for Carbohydrate Periodization and the Glycogen Threshold Hypothesis - PubMed). Each daily fuel plan is designed to maximising performance, elevate recovery and enhance adaptation to your workouts. Additionally, we also provide the ability to plan/log your meals and snacks using voice, computer vision and traditional search.

I hope this helps and looking forward to hopefully hearing your feedback in the near future!

Thanks,
David

Feedback from an experienced eye is always welcome! If it works for you and you time I’d love to demo and hear your thoughts?

Thanks again,
David

I’m a current user of ‘The Athlete’s Foodcoach’ app. Why should I switch to your platform?
Is there any way to try out your software?
The roadmap page (Roadmap) is not up-to-date; ‘next planned’ items seem to be already done. What is ‘done’ vs ‘live’, including the integration with intervals.icu? Is there any integration with Strava/Wahoo/… planned?

Hi Maarten,

Thanks for taking the time to reply and highlighting our roadmap needed an update! I can confirm we have now updated this so you can see what is live, planned and being worked on.

If you have time, it would be great to setup a call and demo Hexis to you to show you what we have built and are building, as well as outline where we may be a more beneficial solution than FoodCoach in supporting your performance goals. DM me if interested!

Thanks,
David

I’m on a mobile atm, but scrolling down the page touches on the features. Looks like illustrations of an app on a phone to me. At the very bottom are link headings for Navigation and Help. Those open up a surprising number of interviews, articles, and help about the product.

@IlariK That’s an unlikely means and location to put those links unless there are others up the page. Many would assume they would not lead to further useful promotional information. From my cursory glance those appear to be your best material.

@Jcmiii I don’t quite understand what you mean!

EatMyRide application has helped me a lot on my way to plan, monitor on the fly and review after cycling my nutrition and hydration.

Hello riders,

I highly recommend Hexis. It’s an amazing app for managing carbohydrate periodization. It’s a real game changer, since I’ve been using it I’ve really felt the difference, especially on recovery, long rides and intensities. Having these reserves full is really important.

I recommend it at 200%. Thanks again to @DavidMDunne !

Hi, I was using the athlete’s foodcoach app as well, then i tried hexis for one month. I couldn’t recommend it more. For instances it syncs every kind of sports you do (swimming and strength as well, and a ton of other things), then based on when you plan to do your workout it calculates the meals and it changes the macros based on that. There is an integration with training peaks as well. Moreover when you log your food you can simple take a picture and it recognizes the food! Still there are some improvements, like you can not create an entire meal that you use frequently and there are no recipes, but for me is no big deal and i think ther are going to add these features soon

Hi @Cristina_Nardin, I’m delighted to hear you are enjoying Hexis! Yes, we currently cater for 89 different types of actives across all durations and intensities but if there is a sport missing that you’d like us to include just let me know and I’ll get the team on it. We are excited to introduce recipes soon and in the meantime you can get some sample recipes from our database here for some inspiration! The Athletes French Toast with some banana and honey is a real winner :+1:

Oh. My bad. Wrong reply to. But I’ll have to check out the app you use, this one, and others. Do these apps give recommendations on fueling for planned rides? For example, based on a gpx file and temperature data of a planned route which would have course provide grades, altitude, and distance, can they give food and electrolyte suggestions. Something a bit more complex than “eat 60 to 90 carbs per hour.”

Hi @Jcmiii, thanks for the question! We currently provide an exact gram of carbohydrate target for each ride (not a generic range) along with kcal, protein and fat targets. The recommendation varies significantly depending on the type of activity, its intensity and duration, as well as taking into consideration if it is a competition or one of your key performance workouts of the week where you might want slightly higher intakes to practice your race day fuelling strategies and train your gut. Each recommendation also has a coaching insight to help you hit your target, for example if you are recommended 100g/hr of carbs we will promote the use of higher concentration sports drinks (60g+ like Maurten, etc) and sports foods (40g+ chews, etc). We haven’t yet converted the exact recommendations into number of gels, bars and drinks but it is on our roadmap after we introduce recipes as we want to recommend some of these also. I hope this helps!

Hi @Jan_Fineleg delighted to hear! I can pull together some Intervals specific resources no problem. Myself and the team were thinking of doing a webinar covering the science behind Hexis, as well as how to maximise the integration with Intervals. Would this be of interest?

Dear David, thank you for your reply… yes very much interested… example… did all to connect intervals with hexis, but I don’t see my planned workout in the calendar, so I’m doing something wrong :see_no_evil: but cant find what… :+1::+1::+1::+1::+1:
