Help with Sprint Technique

I consider myself a half decent sprinter for my skill level, but I think I have LOTS to learn and improve upon still - hoping to get some tips and advice!

The picture is zoomed in to the very end of a race for the sprint finish. Note I am beyond tired at this point and had very little sprint left in me, but it gets the point across.

My general tactic for a sprint is go from whatever my leadout cadence and gearing is, then right before I throw down a sprint clunk up to my biggest gear ratio and smash the pedals. It seems inefficient to do it that way, right?

My cadence drops significantly when I quickly flip through the gears and I have to grind my cadence back up…

Should I more slowly work my way up to the highest gear ratio in the leadout so I don’t have to have a cadence drop before the sprint? Or any other tips?
