Oh, and for sleep analysis coming from a Garmin device, Apple Health does not support either the sleep phases. So Garmin Connect can’t export the sleep phases into Apple Health. Hence I invite you as well to do a feature request to Apple. This time, it is more a feature request for the iPhone:
Thousands of user contacted me from within the app. I am pretty sure you can do it as well.
It means you are experiencing a Garmin bug. HealthFit mirrors Apple Health and Apple Health is the only source of truth for HealthFit. I invite you to contact the Garmin support with the screenshot of your Garmin Connect sleep analysis and the screenshots of all the sleep samples in Apple Health for the corresponding night. I am pretty sure they will fix this bug quickly. Here is the contact URL:
I guess you are missing the Apple Mail app…
Yes. Just enable that in /settings and click “Download old data”. If you only want to restore sleep only choose that option.
You must setup at least one mail account in Apple Mail on the iPhone to use this.
Hi David
I noticed today that my weight measurement being imported from HealthFit is not sticking in the settings anymore. Following your previous change it was working fine until this week. The only thing that has changed is that my weight has gone up! Can’t imagine that would break it.
Thanks
That’s Apple for us.
Now if we could get Apple to somehow enable a proper HRV monitoring at a consistent time of the night without us having to be awake and using their Breathe app, then it magically sent that info to intervals I’d probably start using HRV to see what it tells me.
But that’s maybe not how HRV is best measured.
So does it update from HealthFit and then revert? Or is it not updating at all?
I’m talking to the HealthFit Developer about it, but has anybody figured out how to only send the “after waking” HRV result to Intervals?
Random Avg HRV from Apple Health means very little. I take log a specific HRV result each morning with the Mindfulness app, that’s the only measurement that matters to me.
Thanks!
There should be. If you go in the Health App and on HRV you can check out the raw data. In the Sample Details Header you find a field Algorithm Version. I assume Value 1 means its from the Breath App and Value 2 is Apples automatic measuring shedule. So in theory it should be possible for an app developer like HealthFit to use this parameter and just export measures having Value1.
At least you can identify them and might be able to maintain or enter somewhere manually.
I came to the same conclusion on that algorithm field, but had a developer of another app tell me the field wasn’t available.
It would sure make it simpler.
Two little “feature requests”:
In activity, I see now SpO2 and body-fat specifications, in my case uploaded from HealtFit, I guess;-)
- body fat does probably not need to be displayed with full
float
precision;-) Better round it to ~3 significant digits;-) - can we please get SpO2 for the Fitness chart (or am I missing it there somewhere)?
Body fat now has one decimal and I have added SpO2 to fitness.
+1 for if you could import just the HRV readings from the breathe app from healthfit. That would be quite useful.
Is there any way to make HealthFit sync automatically? Every day I have to upload Health Metrics manual.
It syncs automatically for me, not always immediatley in the morning but not long after.
“Automatic synchronization” is a setting in HealthFit that you can turn on.
