Gym workout log

Hello all,

I want to log my gym workout sessions in intervals. My sessions are already logged through Strava; however, they do not seem to count in my conditioning chart. Does anyone know how to register those sessions correctly and if there is a better app than Strava to do that?

Thanks!!

Check the forums for weight training and workout load priority.

In a nutshell. It’s that. Change then %

I don’t use any apps. I just use my Garmin and an app called GymTimer. Basic no frills. Tracks my rest time and tells me to start again.

I do a lot of gym work alongside my cycling training. I’ve found the Strong App on iOS (not sure if it’s in Android or not) for my logging. It’s dead simple (if you monitor RPE [reps in reserve] it will graph your 1RM estimation progress), and when you finish a workout, you can copy the whole session from the share sheet into the notes in Intervals. If you drop it into the Strava comments it’ll drop the session into Intervals as well. It’s very nice.

Thank you! That was helpfull!

Strava’s not ideal for tracking gym intervals or strength work—it mainly focuses on cardio. Try apps like Strong, Fitbod, or sync with TrainingPeaks for better conditioning data. Also, make sure your sessions are tagged right in Strava so they register properly.

hows the formatting? ive done similar in strava but since newlines arent retained within intervals, the notes become pretty unreadable:

right now i think theres a gap in intervals in terms of features for folks that do strength training, but i also think its few enough people that its just not a priority. like @Aidan_Hunter mentioned, most apps of this nature are more cardio-focused, unfortunately

Are you putting into the description or the notes?

I’m using Strong on iPhone and after finishing tap the share button, then copy, then paste it into Intervals (notes) and TrainingPeaks.

All the newlines are retained when pasting into the notes.
