Hi David,
I am just wondering why I can’t see my indoor ride (wahoo systm) in intervals.icu. Once done, the indoor ride are sent to Garmin Connect and Strava. But looks like I can’t have it directly to intervals.icu (it used to work with Strava).
Cheers,
r.
Yes unfortunately Garmin Connect stopped sending activities from non-Garmin devices do apps like Intervals.icu in April 2021. I don’t know if it is possible to get Wahoo to upload to Dropbox?
Fitness syncer will move activities from Garmin to intervals. Not perfect but works pretty well. Free if you only have a few sources/destinations. You can filter in a variety of ways to get just the ones that don’t get synced natively.
Hi,
ok. no worries, will use strava and Garmin Connect for now.

Hi David. I am new to intervals. I’m using it on Chrome. I read thru a lot of this thread and kept seeing discussion of connecting Garmin Connect so that my bike rides sync with intervals automatically. I never saw a chance to do that while setting up my account. Now the only way I can add a ride is to go to settings and use the Garmin connect download functionality which is very clunky. Seems like it should be simpler. Am I misunderstanding what is possible with auto sync? I never connected Strava because I prefer Garmin connect.
I used that Garmin connect but that opens a dialog box that has me request a download from Garmin connect. After Garmin pulls the data it sends me an email and I have to copy the link and paste it into the dialog box. Nothing about auto sync ever presents itself.
Which option are you clicking on specifically?
Note that the last link - “import all garmin data” this is for downloading of PAST workouts like maybe 1year(??).
the other 3 option boxes are for linking intervals to garmin. SImilar to how you link Strava to intervals or Garmin to Strava etc.
Ok thanks. I’m trying to get it to work. I figured out how to do what you’re talking about. It pops up a privacy window asking if I agree and then just sits there and spins. Sigh.
If it just spins that is likely a Garmin problem. You can try reload that page.
Perhaps try another browser?
I know I’ve had issues w/ GC when connecitng to it via Safari, so I had to switch over to chrome.
Weird. Opposite for me. I had to switch from Chrome to Safari.
Not sure what went wrong. Wellness Data from Garmin all came over w/out a hitch. However, the activity files, not so much. Some showed up, most did not
Going w/the nuclear option which is probably the correct option as well. Disconnected Strava. Requested a full export from Garmin.
edit: if i display show activity source, it says Garmin Connect, but it has the activity title from Strava.
edit2: setting a filter for source, there are no Strava activities. However, I still see activity titles for Garmin Connect sourced activities. @david
Intervals.icu keeps the name and a few other things from Strava activities when it replaces them with activities from Garmin/Suunto/Polar/Dropbox etc. If you do Options and tick “Show deleted activities” you should be able to see the Strava ones.
Hi @david I wrote wahoo to make a feature request to send workouts direct from intervals to the headunit.
They added me to the list and asked if the cloud api helps. Is there a possibility to use the api to fulfill my needs?
Thanks
Sebastian
Hi @david I have a little problem. When i do the cycle activity automatically upload to intervals, its perfect, but i would like control when is this upload, because i change on garmin the name of the activity and put the RPE. Yesterday i change the configuration :
And today when i change the name of the activity and put the RPE i select the download activities, but the activity not appears, i dont know why? , i try to disconnect and reconnect to garmin but nothing… Any idea???
Unfortunately Garmin only provides the name of the activity and the fit file once. It is not possible to get future updates or RPE etc… Intervals.icu can read RPE and feel from the fit file if they are there but this is only likely if you capture those on the device before uploading to Garmin.
Ok, its understood but why not sync the activity when i select the option?
The procedure was:
1.- Deselect (donwload activity) on intervals settings.
2.- Do the activity.
3.- Change the name and put the RPE on garmin connect.
4.- Select (donwload activity) on intervals settings.
5.- Reload and wait the activity on intervals.
The problem was that after step 4 the actvity not sync.
Many Thanks @david!
Garmin are very strict with API requests to download old data. If the request covers previously used date ranges it is rejected. They want everyone to use their “push” updates which sends new activities to Intervals.icu very soon after they are uploaded to Garmin Connect. This push includes the name of the activity and the fit file, thats it. So if you wait a bit before renaming it is quite likely that the old name is sent. There is no update of the name after that.
So this is probably why your activity didn’t arrive. The easiest solution is probably to just download the fit file from GC and manually upload it to Intervals.icu.
Many thank!!
