I know my topic doesn’t make much sense but my husband did the garmin coach 5k thingy and saw huge improvements. It seems he was over training before. So when it finished he thought he’d start again with a faster time as his goal but he stopped after the first workout because it seemed to be far too easy. Is there a rationale to going backwards for awhile? Or is the algorithm just a bit dumb and can’t take into account that you’ve just finished a plan?
The logic is correct, but not as simple. The 5k is a basic plan designed to get people off the couch and running, which is why those initial sessions seem easy.
Does he record RPE after each session? If not, get him to record it now. Looking back on the same plan can tell a story on it’s own.

Sorry for the late reply. I’ll suggest it to him. Thanks.
