Fitness graph feedback after first race

So, had my first race today. Was a lot of fun.

Also a pretty big effort as reflected in my fitness graph.

Curious what “best practice” is and what others usually do when a big effort day dips their graph into the red?

Take a full day of rest? Two? Or some zone 1/2 work?

TR doesn’t have anything for me, but was a pretty light week aside from the race day effort.

Well done on your race.

It depends what’s next on your calendar, and when (not tomorrow but events). A rest day is always a good thing, and won’t do any harm to take the day off.

The accursed “depends”…

Nothing booked in the near term, I’m trolling around bikereg looking for something. Probably no closer than 2 weeks out.

I might take it easy. do some lazy cross training. Make up a weight day or take the kids to the pool and do a few laps.
