Hi all,

I tried 3 differents emails address in settings but when I click on Resend I got an error 550 from the provider:
Email Address

bounced (host hotmail-com.olc.protection.outlook.com[104.47.55.161] said: 550 5.7.1 Unfortunately, messages from [176.9.85.204] weren’t sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list (S3140). You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors. [BN8NAM12FT068.eop-nam12.prod.protection.outlook.com] (in reply to MAIL FROM command))

It’s possibly consecutive to my last resync with Strava, I remember selected the minimum tick box in the confidentiality sharing app screen.

Thanks, regards.

Michael

It seems that Intervals.icu has ended up on the Microsoft block list. I am busy trying to sort that out. Tx for the report.

I know it’s a pain in the butt, but moving away from .icu maight save you (and users) a lot of trouble :sunglasses:

Yeah but it was working. This is a new development :frowning:

And it will keep coming back :upside_down_face:

Got this back from Microsoft after quite a bit of back and forth:

As previously stated, your IP’s (…) do not qualify for mitigation at this time. I do apologize, but I am unable to provide any details about this situation since we do not have the liberty to discuss the nature of the block.

At this point, I would suggest that you review and comply with Outlook.com’s technical standards. This information can be found at https://postmaster.live.com/pm/postmaster.aspx.

We regret that we are unable to provide any additional information or assistance at this time.

So after more than a year of successfully delivering mail to Microsoft domains no such luck now. I am going to investigate using a 3rd party service to send these mails.

Thanks for the feedback David. As always the answer from Microsoft doesn’t help much…

Anyway, I successfully received email from this topic forum update, that means I’ll receive email when I increase power during my ride or it’s different emailing system??

Yeah, that was to be expected and doesn’t help at all, which is typical Microsoft, Apple, Garmin and so on…

Anyway, just out of curiosity: how much work is it to move to another domain? Or, why not claim another domain and use that for your email?

Of course you can always try other parties, but I doubt that will be any cheaper…

The problem isn’t with the domain. Some hotmail/whatever users have flagged mail from Intervals.icu as spam so my IP’s have gone onto the MS blacklist.

That doesn’t make sense - you only send email to people who indicated they want to receive it, so why would they mark it as spam?

The problem is the .icu domain in general, but, it’s your thing so I’ll never speak of it again :zipper_mouth_face:

I created an account yesterday with a Hotmail address and cannot verify the account because of this issue. My password manager also didn’t save the credentials during account creation, so I don’t know what the password to that account is and have no way to reset it.

If you can’t fix things on the Hotmail end, maybe you should disallow account creation for email addresses that contain “hotmail.com” in a programmatic way. Help text advising people not to use Hotmail might also be good, but people don’t read help text.

There are quite a few Microsoft domains that don’t work unfortunately :frowning:

What password manager are you using? That part should have worked.

Maybe disallow all of those domains? They don’t actually allow your user to manage their account, so folks shouldn’t use them. Or come up with an alternative account confirmation/reset that doesn’t require email.

I’m currently using 1Password v6.8.9 on macOS 11.1

During the first Hotmail account creation process I filled out all of the fields and clicked the “Signup” button with my mouse. Chrome offered to save the credentials (which I always decline) but 1Password was silent. I figure no worries, I’ll just reset the password and then manually create a login.

During creation of the second “b_morgan” account, I accidentally hit the “return” key after entering my max heart rate, which triggered 1Password to create a login and I saved it. Your account creation form did not submit though, which was great, and I was able to continue filling it out and then click “Signup”.

Intervals.icu signup page no longer accepts Microsoft domains:

const MS_EMAIL_DOMAINS = ["@hotmail.", "@live.", "@msn.", "@passport.", "@outlook."]

At least until I can sort this out.
