Efficiency Factor (EF)

My current efficiency level is at 1.4 / while I have been able to see how before I have higher levels. I would like to start a base.
When do I know that I should leave the base and begin higher efforts?

At what level of efficiency do you recommend leaving the base?

Assuming that this is a good indicator you should progress to higher efforts when you stop seeing improvements. The actual value is not important since it varies between people. I also suggest to use the same workout for evaluation in as similar conditions as possible, i.e.on a trainer. Temperature, hydration, sleep, time of day and other factors influence heartrate so I think it would take at least few weeks with similar EL during the same workout to make the decision to go forward. Personally I just started looking at this but Iā€™m not using it in planning (yet?)
