So, I took delivery of a Waterrower last week and have used it a couple of times. It’s one of their basic units, so the computer/monitor doesn’t have any connectivity options.
I’m trying to find a good way to log workouts and have them uploaded to Strava/this site. What I’ve tried:
-
Recording w/ Strava. I’d hoped that this would record my HR and I could then add metrics after the fact. The reality was that it treats it like it’s an outdoor workout and tried to embed a GPS track. It tries to use this for calculating distance, which obviously doesn’t work. Metrics are not editable after the fact.

Record w/ the Wahoo app. I can disable GPS on this and hoped that I could edit after the fact. Also a nope. The only items editable after the fact were title and workout type. It records 0 for the distance (of course, there’s no way for it to know otherwise) and I can’t update it.
When both of these make it to Strava, there’s no option to manually update anything.
With the Wahoo recorded workout from today, it somehow decided that I’d go 2 meters.
At least the load is calculated from HR modeling, though I don’t know how accurate that is, as a VERY sustainable HR on the bike seems to require a very sizable (and non-sustainable) effort on the rower, but that’s probably a completely different topic.
So, does anyone have any tips, tricks or pointers?
Thanks,
Andy
