BreakAway: Indoor Training - Now Supports Apple Health Sync (To Intervals.icu)

so now it works correct? YOu could do a sync again and check it out. (Intervals.icu will use the newer data anyways and no duplicates)

Tried to use this app today. As soon as I turn on the intervals sync the app sits for about 5 seconds then crashes. Confirmed turning off sync to intervals solves the crash. Any thoughts?

Just checked Apple Crash Reports and there’s nothing there. :frowning:
So I’ll need your help to figure out what is causing the crash. The 5s is the app doing it’s initial sync w/ intervals.icu

let’s see if this will be able to capture the crash:

  1. Go to SETTINGS tab
  2. scroll to the bottom, at the developer option, put in “LOGCLOUD” w/o quotes
  3. do the sync, then it will generate a log file called “logcloud.txt” in the HISTORY TAB.
  4. tap on it and send it to me via the email in “Help & Support” (app.4g at gmail dot com)

it will also help if you enable sending crash reports to developers.

(within the same screen - if you tap on “Analytics Data” then search for TacxBle-xxxx, that’s the crash report. You could also send that to me and I’ll find out what’s happening and I’ll fix it.

ps: Its possible there’s something on your calendar that the app can’t handle gracefully, if you move the workouts to another week temporarily, will the crash go away?

Thanks for the app, I’ve tried it to sync Apple Health to Intervals.icu for wellness data and well, I was wondering if there’s an option to incorporate sleep scoring. On the other hand, I don’t get breathing data either.

I have followed your guide and it is great: BreakAway: Indoor Training App Now Supports Apple Health Sync (BETA) – BreakAway

Sleep Scoring isn’t a metric which apple Health provides. As I understand it, sleep score is something which “other companies” provide and which Apple doesn’t as they have different thinking.

Honestly, i don’t want to go down this rabbit hole of analysing what makes a good sleep score (if there is a published research on it and is widely accepted, then yeah. let me know)

Breathing data = respiration? yup… I’m working on that (its actually done - Interest in free apple health to intervals App - #10 by app4g)

now I’m working on getting average sleep HR

Here’s one:
https://jcsm.aasm.org/doi/abs/10.5664/jcsm.11460

Recap here:

TLDR: " bear in mind that as it often happens, there can be large errors and high individual variability in estimates (nothing is measured here, the wearable can only try to guess when you are actually sleeping, as it is unable to measure what it should be measuring for this application to work reliably: your brain waves), and therefore data should not be trusted blindly."

i Kinda regretted asking this lolz
But will take a look when I’m done w/ Avg Sleeping HeartRate

Just read the linked re-cap and the conclusion on the research paper. It confirms what I thought as well, sleep based on wrist measurement is as trustworthy as my optical HR from my Garmin when doing HIIT / Run workouts

These are the following new Fields which are now supported (in the BETA) based on user requests

That looks great, how do I use the beta? Do you need a tester? I’m an iPhone user using BreakAway for wellness data sync.

yes! I need tester…
Please PM me your email and I’ll add you to the BETA.

This is pretty cool! I switched on the sync but so far I cannot find the data in intervals.icu. Where should I look? Don’t see it under wellness data.

the few fields I marked above are only available in the BETA (needs testflight). which fields are you sync’ing?

Weight and Active Energy

Did you try “import past data”?

Yes, but not sure where to look in Intervals.

If the sync was successful. It would appear on your calendar. Eg above. You can see the weight. Sleep times and such on the calendar.

If you have issues. Please make sure that BreakAway has access to Apple Health. Apple designed it such that apps will fail SILENTLY if permissions are not granted. We don’t even know between permission x granted or just don’t have data.

If this error persists. We can get some logs.

Okay, got it now. Had to change Health permissions in settings and add a field (ActiveEnergy) in Intervals. Thank you for the help, this is great!

Hi,
I have a problem with sleep import. The old sleep data (beginning 2024 updated great). However, when I change the date range to e.g. end of 2024 it no longer imports anything. Entitlements assigned. Sleep recorded with watch no other apps recording data in health.

Did you manage to narrow it down to specific month? Or day?

This post here has details on getting logs.
