I have a quick question regarding gear management. How can I best assign multiple default gear items to an activity like Backcountry Skiing?
For example, I have my ski touring skis set as the default gear for Backcountry Skiing.
However, I also have three different ski touring boots, and I want my primary boot to be set as the default. If I use a different pair, I would manually switch them.
Additionally, I might want to assign my ski touring skins as well.
Right now, I can only assign one gear item per activity, but I can’t find a way to assign multiple (e.g., ski + boots + skins).
Am I missing something, or is it really limited to a 1-to-1 relationship instead of N-to-1?
You need to define each different combination as a gear.
Gear 1 = ski 1 + boot 1 + skin 1
Gear 2 = Ski 1 + boot 2 + skin3
etc…
Not super efficient, but that’s the only way now.
But then I would never get the total kilometers or total elevation gain for my ski, boots or skins since it would be split across multiple gear combinations… ? That kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?
tbh - never looked into Garmin Gear Tracking, used Strava firsthand … (not really good ^^)
Guess I’ll have a look into Garmin’s Gear Tracking … thx 4 pointing it out.
ok - 1 Minute - and Garmin Gear Tracking already disqualified itself - no way to set “Backcountry Skiing” as Default for Gear … only 5 sports choosable … WHY?! does one limit it to a few fixed sports when you can track dozens … come one …
i coded this to make it easy for me to assign gears automatically based on sports.
(but deficiencly is it can’t track like Runs where you want to alternate shoes)
