Alpine skiing includes lifts in fitness data

I went Alpine Skiing and my fitness quadrupled in a few days with a weekly training load of 6000+  Intervals.icu is evidently including the chair lifts. Data came via Strava and is all good there.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

I would prioritise HR instead of pace. Did you check this in the settings?

You probably have to reanalyse the activity afterwards.

Thank you. That fixed it and back to a rubbish fitness score! TBH, I am surprised that Intervals does not automatically have sports-specific training load priorities. (Strava seems to?). Power is irrelevant for ‘Alpine skiing’, and Pace a bit of a furphy with chair lifts etc. Even adjusting manually, I could not see a way of having HR ONLY?

It’s rubbish even without lifts. Downhill speed is more about how gutsy and technical you are, not fitness.

I recorded the skiing on my watch which does include HR and there was definitely a correlation between how technical and how fast I skied. None of it really aerobic of course, probably just adrenalin driven.

Same like when we see Pidcock cycle downhill

Indeed there will be world tour pros equally fit, but not as good at descending.

I still haven’t found a good way to track downhill ski activities. No matter what I do I feel like I either end up with a load that is unbelievably high or one that is way too low for how gassed I feel after a day on the mountain. :man_shrugging:
