Following up on the intensity issue.
The observation that 1 race, 2 VO2 max workouts (15-18 min in zone) and a 2.5 hour zone 2 rides er week may be too much intensity.
I was trying to get polarized but didn’t realize there is some debate as to the definition of polarized. (Why should this be different?)
Is a base plan with a high polarization index good enough?
I tried to see what is the PI and found I didn’t have the time to dig into it.
I’ve decided to do 3 weeks of my polarized (nearly polarized) workouts and then 1 week of easier.
Should the easy week be zone 2 or use this to do 8-10 min sweet spot intervals?
I’m 60 yo and ride 5-6 hr/wk and and do 20 -30 min of calisthenics and dumbbell exercises daily.
