I am a new user of Intervals.icu and I am not sure what is better to use for activity recording. Garmin data when importing to Intervals.icu or Zwift data?
What provides more details to Intervals.icu? Or is it pretty much the same?
In general Garmin will have more data when it comes to datastreams (especially when using data from a L/R power meter). But the Garmin will never have the Zwift route.
The Zwift file will have the route (map) and most, or in lots of cases, all metrics.
If there’s something in the Garmin file that is important to you, you will have to decide what is most important, that specific thing or the map.
You can use Gotoes to merge the map to the Garmin and then you have everything, but that needs some manual work and a one-time donation to Gotoes.
Thanks very much for the response and for the tip. I will probably have a look at the Gotoes to see how much hassle that is. I’ve never used it before. Not sure it’ll be worth the effort but I’ll find out.
The cost of donating to gotoes is negligible, compared to the value it brings in merging data together.
