Workout sync to Stryd

I really love how easy it is to create workouts from text which supports a quick copy / paste / edit to create a new workout.

My created workouts get to Garmin seamlessly, but it’s great to have them sync to Stryd so that I can pair the run ran with the run planned.

Would you consider syncing to Stryd so that the workouts can also appear there?

Thanks for an AMAZING tool to support my (and I’m sure I speak for many others also) fitness / health / longevity / experience of life. :sparkles::pray:

Does Stryd actually partner with anyone for power workouts? I know that one can create POWER workouts in finalsurge and then sync it to garmin to be executed… (I’m not sure if they allow structured workouts to be synced to Stryd)

I also know that you can create a Power based workout on Garmin and execute it on a Garmin and then the data will be uploaded to Stryd’s powercenter. (only if you have the official stryd data field installed).

And to be able to use Stryd’s official workouts, you have to use Stryd’s Workout App and if not mistaken, be a stryd subscriber.

i also don’t see any way one can create a workout within Stryd’s Mobile App nor the desktop calendar tho…

I contacted Stryd about this issue. He told me that you have to use their APP or Final Surge. I take this opportunity to ask @david to provide with Stryd if it were possible, it would make my job much easier. Thank you

I googled a bit and couldn’t find anything about a Stryd API other than that they don’t have one.

As @Vito_Nacci mentions, I create power-based workouts in Final Surge, and then sync them to both Stryd and Garmin (the RunPowerWorkout activity datafield is great for executing them!)

Training Peaks is also listed as a possible connected app, so that may work, too.

@David I’ll see what I can find out re how Final Surge did it and what API(s) they support. Maybe it’s a pull from the Stryd side – hope not. I’m in rather lengthy chat with Stryd so I’ll ask them when it seems a fitting time.

@david @Tom_Hale As far as I’m concerned if we can get garmin’s native run power to work that’s more than enough. I would use that actually. Maybe if you send David a file and see how to go about programming the garmin api, if it can be done

@david I wanted to inform you that the problem of synchronizing intervals with stryd has been solved by stryd itself. Specifically, all structured workouts entered on Garmin Connect are passed to the Stryd data file on the Garmin watch. I recommend making a watch face with only stryde zones and it works well, I’ve tried and tested it. Below I insert the link where it is explained well how to do it.

Here is the response I got when I asked. If some of you are interested in that integration, you know what you have to do.

According to the conversation I have had with stryd support, is that if you want the Garmin power to work you can pair it as a power meter but if you want the stryd metrics and data you need to use the Stryd data field or workout app depending the model of garmin that you have.

Once mine arrives I will test and feed back

You are a bit late to the party here
Intervals has support for both. Garmin’s power is in the standard field and Stryd power is recorded in the FIT file as a dev field. You can chart both of them by creating a Custom data stream or you can choose which one to use from the Actions - Settings menu on the activity page.
