In the workout planner, load for an activity goes down with more work if it includes more rest. See the following examples:
30 minute easy run - Load 29, 3.7 miles
30 minute easy run with 5 sprints, separated by 3 minutes - Load 21, 3.9 miles
I understand that the intensity factor decreased because of extra rest. Is the lower load something fundamental in the calculation?
P.S. Kudos to David, this platform is amazing and it’s incredible that it’s all supported by one person!
Looks strange indeed but overall load is a result of duration and avg intensity. It probably comes right if you set those 3m to Z1?
Right, that’s what I can do to get a more accurate load estimation. However, when I do this workout, I probably won’t record the rests and I would get something like this, which works for what I’m doing (just want to see the little bit of added stress from a couple strides after an easy run).
Still would be cool to see if there’s a way that the rest intervals (anything with 0W power) could be excluded from the load calculation. Thanks for your help!
