Workout builder ramp function in Garmin

I would certainly find such a simulated ramp useful. Even if it consists of few enough steps to not break any limits. I mean if we want such a ramp now, we have to do it manually and have to respect the same limit anyway. So an automatic “stepper” would be appreciated. My personal use case would be negative splits in races, by the way.

Having the option of an automated ramp to step conversion for devices not supporting ramps would be fantastic.

Implementing it in a dynamic way such that it utilises all remaining steps of the device is an excellent approach.

Adding a hint to the ramp funktion that this is to circumvent the hardware limitations (no ramp func && 50 step limit) to make people aware to use ramps carefully.

Meanwhile let’s follow all the link above and propose this function to garmin here: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas/
Let’s hope ramps will be supported by gamin edge one day.

On the garmin page linked above i have proposed the following

Implement ramp function in training intervals.

Currently it is not possible to provide start and endpoint and a device can take it and interpolate linearly over time adjusting for instance the intensity.

This would be very simple to implement and would support a lot of athlets with there traing.
This function is for instance supported by wahoo devices.

As a practical example: During warm up or cool down on a home trainer this would be very useful especially since a trainng file can only contain max 50 steps.

Thanks
