By analogy: getting the username and password from someone without having an API is like finding the key to someone’s house, getting their address, then showing up to the house to see that there are actually no doors … it’s just a big cement block. Until someone blows a hole in the block and puts a door there from which the key then provides access, the key is pretty useless.
