Hi,
I did a lab test with lactate profile and VO2max protocol. How can I edit VO2max values in intervals settings page?
There is no setting for VO2max on the settings page. Are you perhaps referring to the value showing on the power page?
If not, post a screenshot of what you want to edit.
On “Power” page, there is a table with best efforts for this and previous season. On the bottom there is a VO2max value. I don’t know it’s orogin, it’s different than what garmin reports and I don’t know how to edit it.
That’s a calculated value based on a previous maximal effort, but currently doesn’t show when you did it; at least not directly clicking on the value.
The link on the value explains how it’s calculated, which is based on a 5-min effort. You should see your 5-min best effort in the current season and the last season column. Click on that value and it will tell you when.
Another value is in Wellness data; which is from a compatible device that records/estimates the VO2max value in the fit file.
Do you have your VO2max test available as a fit file? You can upload that, and it could show a new calculated value.
VO2max test was recorded by lab equipment, but also with my Garmin, connected with HR, my 4iii left PM and Kick trainer PM on which the test was done.
So both VO2max and LT1 and 2 tests were uploaded to intervals, but there was no change I think resulting from this.
Previously estimated FTP by intervals is almost spot on with LT2 lab test. LT2 @300W, eFTP 305W from a ramp test FTP at home 5 days before.
The value is returned from a 5-min maximal effort, and not a ramp test.
The VO2max test done using a metabolic cart is a ramp test.
So it depends what your average power was for the “lab” test, for 5-mins, and also what the incremental increase was on your power, eg. 20W every minute.
What was your last 5-min power relative to the activity that they current 5-min best shows?
You don’t need to publish it here, but rather a question to help you answer which was better.
It’s not really trade secret, it’s not like I’m Pogi or something .
It apears max 5min power were the same for home ramp test and lab LT test, although power increments were different.
Hi Rookie,
I can see that you have added L which im guessing is oxygen consumption. How do you add that data to your activity?
Best regards
That “L” is training load. It’s available under “Fields” menu.
