Vo2 max Daily import

Since 31/07 something has changed, the daily Vo2 max data that should be imported from Garmin is different and with many decimal numbers.

I don’t have any other services that import Vo2 max, what could it be?

I can’t get VO2 value to import from Garmin at all.
I have disconnected and reconnected my Garmin authorisation with Intervals.
I have downloaded old data.
I have VO2 selected as a wellness option in Garmin Connect import box.
How do I get VO2 value to import from Garmin?
Thanks

Mine seems to be coming in (sparodically) tho I have no ides where they might be coming in from.

Garmin is enabled and I also have HRV4Training, or is it Apple Health (as in Garmin → Apple Health)

no clue… (but in all honesty, I don’t really look at the value, it’s non-sensical to me)

Same for me, today… as soon as HRV4Training synced, the VO2 value (from Garmin) appeared.

Intervals.icu gets VO2 Max from Garmin via “UserMetrics” webhooks. I don’t know when Garmin decides to send those or how it is worked out. I can see from the logs that a lot of people are getting this data.

Thanks for getting back on this. Strange it’s not coming through for me but so be it. Not a show stopper.

@david Why can’t we say what to import from the Dropbox file? This way we could say don’t import the Vo2max data and it doesn’t overwrite the Garmin one.

What do you have in Dropbox that has VO2Max data?

Hrv4 training, It started to record Vo2max data and overwrite Garmin Vo2max data

this answer caught me by surprise. THat HRV4Training is actually getting VO2Max data. (I just checked and it’s actually there)

Either HRV4Training is gettinbg the VO2max from Strava (the only thing its connected to) or it’s calculating it itself.

While I do seems to have VO2Max data on the CSV export, it’s fairly limited and majority shows 0.0

Anyways… you can set-up which parameters are imported.

HRV4T calculates a VO2 Max estimate itself.

Thank you!!! I didn’t see that I could deselect the import of that data!

I went to check based on your comment. On iOS app, it’s More, Insights, VO2max.
It’s getting my data from the link to TrainingPeaks. I never bothered going into the detail as the estimate is close to Garmin’s estimate, which I thought was the source.

Ah… now I see it as well…

TBH, I’ve never placed any importance on the numbers which Garmin Gives me. It seems to be either overly inflated or overly deflated from what I can tell.

In the absence of a real vo2max test, however, it is an indicative data, or is it?

Garmin’s VO2 estimate is pretty close for me.

These values are based on certain parameters, calculations and/or algorithms from a specific test protocol or maximal effort. So to get a comparison, it’s best to use the same method to test, and then look at the trend over time. Knowing what impacts doing test/effort, as well as general health at the time can also affect the result, just like a metabolic cart test would also be dependent on how you perform on the day.

Some links on Intervals where different testing methods have been discussed:

Doing a ramp test, you can estimate using this site.
