VAM is not negative on descents

I was using the awesome search interval compare feature to try to find my best VAM across activities.

It was only at this point that I’ve stumbled upon he fact that on descent laps the VAM is not calculated to a negative number but to an incredibly high number.

Is this somehow expected?

Hmm… Never payed attention to the number in the Fields but you are right. It’s always a positive number. The VAM chart on the other hand correctly shows negative values.
