Today I first used laps on my Edge 530 and while they show correctly on Strava, here they are moved by more than a minute backwards, also their length is not correct. I have autopause turned on on my Edge, but I haven’t stopped once before the first interval. Any ideas? Maybe I send the file/activity to somebody? Thanks
You have a privacy zone set in Strava? I think that causes the laps to shift, i.e. starting when you leave your zone.
Edit: @david mentioned this earlier in this thread
Yes, I have a privacy zone set in Strava. The time difference would be right too I think.
Unfortunately this is a long outstanding bug with the Strava API. Until I support manual upload of files or sync with Garmin Connect etc. there isn’t a workaround.
I’m still struggling with intervals being recognised based on laps from my Garmin watch. In Strava it is correct with 41 total laps:
But despite ticking use laps and keeping all laps under analyse, I cannot get the intervals to use the laps.
I will have a look at this tonight. I looked into another case in detail recently and the lap data from Strava didn’t match up with the data traces from the activity i.e. it was not possible to recreate the stats for each lap from the raw data.
I found the problem: The heart rate interval finder was ignoring the “keep all laps” setting. I will deploy the fix on tomorrow AM (GMT+2). Tx for the report.
Interestingly the HR interval finder strategy of looking at average HR for an interval to classify it as work or recovery fails for these 60s on 60s off efforts. The work and recovery intervals have pretty much the same average HR due to lag. Need to look at pace or something. Future work
Thank you! Yeah I’ve noticed that before if you don’t use the lap function - for short intervals HR doesn’t drop or increase clearly enough. Pace would be much better (although not perfect on these hilly ones!)
