The CheckMyRide iOS app now uploads activities to Intervals.icu! Tx @checkmyride for doing the integration.

Hi David and all who is reading this,

Many thanks for helping me with the integration and mentioning it here. I started this software project as my personal hobby project. I started cycling in 2019 when I as 100kg+ and needed to do something about myself :).
As a software specialist in different sectors I decided to throw away my elemnt bolt and started with a piece of software that I could use for myself resulting in CheckMyRide.

Let me sum a few of the features here:

  • • Connect Bluetooth sensors like speed, cadence, heartrate, power
  • • Record activities to FIT files
  • • Analyze your activity
  • • Share your activity (fit file)
  • • Live location tracking
  • • Search workouts on TrainerDay
  • • Create your own workouts
  • • Start workouts
  • • Re-order your dashboard
  • • Athlete profile for power zones, heartrate zones and unit setup
  • • Auto upload activities to Intervals.icu, Strava and TrainingPeaks

Roadmap and currently working on:

  • • Load gpx routes
  • • Calibrate powermeter
  • • Share to socialmedia
  • • Athlete statistics
  • • Support dark mode
  • • Add photos/videos during your activity

As a side note to this info I’m always available for new ideas, feedback (positive and negative so I can make the app better). Feel free to contact me about anything regrading the software and or new ideas :).
Yes I do know that the design isn’t the best but hopefully we will try to implement a complete design during the winter months.

Cheers,

Rogier

I’ve always been a bit torn on the “phone as cycling computer”. On the upside, you have a huge screen and great API/libraries. On the downside, there is battery life and (usually) no ANT+. I currently have a compromise of and Edge 530 running an own Connect IQ app

Hi Nicklas,

Thank you for your reply and indeed you are right. Phone does have the benifits of a large, colour screen with a lot of computing power and availabilities of great API’s. On the other hand with such computing power it drains the battery life of course much faster then a dedicated bike computer. However for rides / activities of 5 hours it is still a great solution in my opinion.
We currently working on improvements for battery life and try to think of ideas to reduce battery drainage during an activity.
Nonetheless we are coming within a few days with a new feature and that is load gpx files and show routes during an activity in your dashboard.

HI All,

It is already a long time ago. We have not been sitting still in the meanwhile. During those months we implemented the following new items:

  • Calendar integration
  • Add workouts to the calendar
  • TrainerDay workout synchronizing to calendar
  • Better third part sites like intervals.icu integration
  • Ride gpx routes
  • Better support for sensors like powermeters, speed and heartrate
  • Squashed a lot of bugs

Roadmap:

  • Implement new designs
  • Calendar and more synchronzing with Intervals.icu and others
  • Squash even more bugs

Some sneak preview of the new design

I’m always open for new ideas, integrations, partnerships and of course any feedback would help a lot with the project.

Hi Rogier,

…we exchanged emails a few days ago. Now I find you here on the forum.
It’s been a while since anyone posted anything here. I’ll do it myself, because I believe this is truly an app that was missing. For example, I have been looking for a long time for an app that allows me to graphically perform a structured workout outdoors, and in my opinion you have achieved your goal.
I only use iPhone as a bike computer, the hardware is much more powerful, and the battery problem is now overcome, at least for training sessions lasting up to 4 or 5 hours.
So congratulations again for the excellent work!
I also proposed an idea to you: to make sure that the string of the current interval is fully colored and not just the thin line below. I think it would be more visually immediate.
Once I finish some training I write my impressions :+1:
