I recently got some Stryd pods for running. I had some previous power zones set up from Garmin power.
My most recent 4 runs have been with the Stryd and now that it has calculated new power zones for me I want to update them. I went into settings and updated FTP and created new power zones. Then I went to the activity list, selected the 4 runs and used “update zones”. It goes through the update screen and says they are updated but it doesn’t appear to do anything, those runs still have the old power zones.
Just to update, I also tried changing my pace zones, then going to the activities screen, selecting some activities, and clicking “update zones.” The zones don’t change for the runs I selected.
If I change my HR zones, using the “update zones” feature does correctly change the zones on selected runs.
My runs use HR for time in zones/training load, so I tried changing that setting to prioritize power. When I did “update zones” it updated the training load for the activity to be based on power but it still did not change the power zones on the activity.
I did some testing and had a look at your runs and it seems to be working. All the power runs have your current zones. I think what is confusing is that updating zones does not change your FTP (or threshold pace) on the activities, just the zone percentages. This is to preserve FTP history when changing zones.
You can manually update your FTP on those activities easily by adding the FTP column to the activity list view or doing Edit → Edit on that page.
