Why is the TSS calculated by strava (outdoor rides) so different from rides on indoor platforms (mywhoosh, Indievelo/training peaks virtual, Zwift) and how do you guys ‘deal’ with it? I feel like the loads from my outdoor rides mess up my fitness chart and need to be corrected😅.
Another question, if I ride solo at 30 km/h with a HR of 165, or I ride in a group at 32 km/h at HR of 160, which will show the lowest load on strava? I guess it’s HR based, right?
By default Intervals uses one of three parameters (Power, HR, Pace) to calculate Load. Which one depends on what is available and what you have set as priority.
My guess is that you don’t have a Power meter on your outdoor bike? And indoor you have a smart trainer recording Power?
If that’s true, outdoor will use HR and indoor will have Load based on Power.
You can check that by clicking on the pencil icon next to Load:
