TriCoach AI | 200+ triathletes from 15+ countries in 4 months. Come see what's different

Hey everyone,

Short intro, because it shaped the whole app. I’m Julien, a triathlete since 2021. Last season I qualified for the World Triathlon Age-Group Championships (See my World Triathlon profile). TriCoach AI came out of my own frustration as an age-grouper.

Here’s what I kept running into: every training tool keeps piling on. More charts, more settings, more toggles to configure. I didn’t want more noise, I wanted clarity. So TriCoach is a full triathlon coach, it just keeps the answer that actually matters front and centre on a busy week, “what should I do today to stay on track for my race?”, instead of burying it under dashboards you’ll never open.

It’s built around one idea: your Vision.

The Vision is the guardrail. You set your A-race (plus any B and C races), and TriCoach maps the whole path to it. Every week it generates is checked against that Vision, so you always see three weeks at once, consistent with each other: the week you just did, the week you’re in, and the week coming up. No random weeks, no quietly drifting off plan.

Meet Tristan, the coach who doesn’t just say yes. Hit a constraint? Tell Tristan (the triathlon AI coach) in plain language: “I’m exhausted”, “traveling with no bike this week”, “only 3 hours free”. He adjusts the plan. But unlike the usual yes-to-everything chatbots, he pushes back when he should, so you don’t overtrain or set reckless paces. He listens, he’s not a pushover. That was the whole point for me: an AI coach you can actually trust with your training load.

One click and it’s on your devices. Approve the week and it syncs to Intervals.icu, which pushes it out to your watch, home trainer and Zwift. That’s it.

Then the small things that keep it honest and simple:

  • Fitness tests scheduled automatically so your zones stay current (no stale FTP from six months ago).
  • A quick performance snapshot after your sessions, so you see progress without digging through dashboards.
  • Share a session to a friend on Zwift in two clicks, intensity auto-scaled to their level.
  • Not only triathlon: run-only plans and run-only race goals work too, and it adapts cleanly to a bike-free vacation week.

Connecting is one-tap OAuth with Intervals.icu.

Why I think it works: around 200 athletes are using it now, and the feedback that keeps coming back is the UX and the simplicity. It clicks for complete beginners and for people chasing an AG podium alike. That’s the goal, useful in thirty seconds, not a second job to manage.

Why Intervals.icu: it’s the backbone. It already nails the data, the analytics and the sync out to Garmin and Zwift, so I could focus on the one thing I cared about, telling you what to do this week and why. And this is the crowd most likely to catch weak coaching logic, which is exactly why I want your eyes on it.

It’s a PWA, so it installs on any phone straight from the browser (add to home screen); native iOS/Android on the way.

What I’d love your feedback on:

  1. When your week falls apart, what should a coach protect first: the long session, the intensity, or recovery?
  2. Where do your current tools feel too complicated, and what would you cut?
  3. What would be the ultimate training app for you?

Criticism very welcome. I’m building this actively and would rather hear it straight from people who know their training data.

Thanks!

Julien

Very interesting and definitely an app I’d like to try when I’m back from injury. Can this be taken into consideration?

Hi, and thanks so much for your support!

Yes, there is a “Returning to training” mode that you can select during onboarding. It will take your injury into account and help you ease back into training progressively. Feel free to provide some context on how you’re feeling whenever you generate each week.

I’m also always available if you have any questions through the feedback form in the app.

By the way, I worked on a new feature in the latest update: a recap of upcoming and completed workouts.

Upcoming workouts: handy, especially on the pool deck, so you can easily have your full workout plan right in front of you.

Completed workouts: to show off on social media! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks again for your support!
