Timeframe for workouts not adjusting for time zone

I am UK resident but in New Zealand for a few months and have adjusted my time zone in settings to NZ (GMT+13).
When I try to do a workout, the details on my watch seem to pick up the details for yesterday’s workout, which I have already done.
Not sure if this is a bug or whether I need to change country to NZ as well - and then switch them both back when I return to UK.
Thanks

You need to change timezone on both Intervals and your device.
If you only change on Intervals, your device will still interpret the time as being the UK time.

Hmm, not sure about that.
Device time zone is automatically synced with GPS.
Device reports correct local time in Activities to Garmin Connect and Intervals reports those activities and associated derived stats with correct time and date.

However, planned activities are created by UK based coach - I wonder if that is contributing?

Everything date dependent is stored in UTC and that UTC timestamp is calculated from the time zone setting that is active on the device you’re on.
If you plan a workout on a desktop or phone, the start time is considered to be given in the time zone active on that device.
A recording on a watch or head unit will take the UTC time (from GPS signal) and will appear on the calendar at the time that corresponds to the time zone of the displaying device.
A scheduled workout on your recording device will appear in the time zone that is set on that device. Just checking your device for the plan, will not put it in recording mode and thus it isn’t picking up location and time from GPS.

Hi MedTechCD,

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my query.

I am going to leave it now as I will be back in the UK in 4 weeks. I don’t believe there is a solution at present. I will simply memorise the prescribed workouts between now and then.

I haven’t been checking the device for the plan. I have been about to start the prescribed workout for the day by choosing the run activity on the device. The device then shows me the title of yesterday’s workout and the options to (i) do workout, (ii) view or (iii) skip. If I view, I get to see the steps of yesterday’s workout and, if I skip, it does not offer me any workout. I just get to use the device without a workout. I have just tried it again at 01:30 UTC or 14:30 NZDT on 2nd February and it is offering me the workout scheduled for 1st February. Intervals is showing that workout as complete with 147% compliance - because it is complete and it took me longer to complete than the planned time.
