Hi, on 30th June I have 25mins of stretching that is uploaded from Garmin Connect. I put the stretching in GC as “Yoga”. In GC It is showing as 25mins. However, unlike the other 25mins stretching that week, the time is showing as 0 minutes. I have tried editing the time, but I can’t find a way to do that.
I wonder if I maybe updated the time after GC had paired with Intervals and it has not been resync’d? I have tried “Reprocess original file” but that has made no difference.
Just to be clear here. I was stretching in my gym!. Absolutely no mileage was involved After finishing I update Garmin Connect with the time I spent stretching.
Also when I look in the actions menu there is no such option.
Normally, Intervals.icu simply takes that across from Garmin Connect and includes it as a stretching, exercise activity - the star jumping man - with the associated time.
Two other such sessions later in that week logged in the same way came across as expected with a time.
This particular one has logged it as an exercise but the time associated with is is ZERO. 0:00:0, even though GC has it correctly. I want to change that to 25 mins. That is all I need to do.
I am not seeing anything that has a “Ignore speed distance”, probably because I am not adding this data directly to Intervals. See screenshots. In Garmin Connect they are going in as Yoga,
However, I now see what you mean now. When I look at the ones that work there is a zero in the mileage. For this one there is a ?.
You are showing me a typical cycling activity. I can see that option in my settings for such activities. That is NOT what I see when the activity is Yoga, This is what I see in Yoga. There are only three options: see below (and I have tried reprocessing the file.)
I have a single entry/activity that is giving me trouble. The others all from the same source, using similar data, are fine. Hence wanting to alter the time for this one.
I’m on a desktop now so it’s easier to respond in a more elaborate way then on my phone.
Your situation looked very similar to previous reported problems where the cause was that someone unintentionally had GPS on for indoor activities. This completely throws off Intervals because there is a speed/distance stream in the fit-file but it is bogus, resulting in incorrect moving time. For those situations, the Actions - Settings ‘Ignore velocity’ option is an immediate solution, instructing Intervals to disregard the speed/distance stream and simply use the total time as moving time.
You can even ignore parts of the activity speed/distance track, if for example your GPS goes crazy in a tunnel or in a city center with high buildings disturbing GPS reception.
Thanks. But just to emphasise. I was not on a bike or run.
I did 25mins stretching… then went to Garmin connect and logged that I had done 25mins yoga after I had finished. No tracking of the activity at all.
So no GPS, and no tracking of the activity at all. I simply added that I did 25mins of an activity.
Maybe, just maybe, I put in the activity name and time, and a few mins later added the 25min duration. I don’t recall doing that, but it would explain the odd missing duration if intervals pick it up between putting in the activity name… and adding the duration.
That night explain why the duration is in GC but not Intervals.
When I spotted it in intervals I simply wanted to edit the time to match… but there was no option… hence the original post.
??? So there is no device FIT file involved here? I always thought that Intervals can only get activity fit files and that there was no acces at all for other activity information from Garmin…
Maybe something has changed recently, but AFAIK ‘if it’s not in the FIT file, Intervals can’t get it’.
It’s different for wellness info off course.
@MedTechCD It is a FIT file. Created from Garmin Connect. Comes across as a FIT file, though it is small. All my similarly created GC activities - Strength and stretching (Yoga) sessions - come across to Intervals correctly.
Ok, so
I again Uploaded the Fit file from Garmin Connect. Again even though the GC records shows 25mins, it came in as 0 mins.
I then deleted the activity in Intervals and then uploading it (in case intervals was thinking the upload was a dupliace and ignoring it). Same result 0 still 0 minutes
I then recreated the entry for that day in exactly the same was as I did previously , with 25 mins (except a different start time and file name). Uploaded that FIT into Intervals and it shows 25 minutes correctly.
When I look in my GC Calendar, the time is counted correctly in the week’s summary of activity.
I can only assume the original FIT file became corrupt in some way and Intervals interpreted it differently to GC. Very odd.
Back to original question: @David Is there any value in being able to adjust the time of these activities within Intervals.icu? That was what originally caused me to start this thread.
However, if I see this again I’ll simply recreate the file in GC and upload again.
