When using a Concept2 rowing machine I tend to connect it to via the ANT+ connection. This means every upload I do can go through my watch and I can properly record Power and HR data into intervals.icu. The one problem with this is when setting up intervals, the C2 PM5 computer does not transmit power data during the rest periods, and instead transmits (or fills in) using the power of the last stroke of the latest interval. This then means the power data is totally over-the-top for estimations of load and fitness, especially for short, hard intervals.
The odd (and potentially useful) thing is that speed/pace data comes through without issue during rest periods. Concept2 use a standard and simple relationship between power and speed, so it is a fairly trivial thing to work out power from the speed using their relationship: P=2.8V³
What I am requesting is an extension of the Fix Data (Fix Power) feature that would detect where the power data drifts too far from the power estimated using the speed data - maybe with an option to choose the Cd - and correct it in instances where that discrepancies are longer than 5-10s.
An example of data from 2 sets of 40s intervals with 2:20 rest with proposed correction:
